Altenew March Inspiration Challenge

Hello friends!

I am loving the inspiration photo from Altenew's March 2018 Inspiration Challenge! I've always wanted to go to Greece so this was a fun challenge to make a card for. The inspiration photo had gorgeous pink, coral, blue and light brown tones that were the inspiration for my card below.

The colors that I selected for this were Altenew's Puffy Heart, Sunkissed, Rocky Shore, and Persian Blue. To start, I used Altenew's Halftone Stencil and sponged on Sunkissed ink.

I then die cut out the flower and branches from the Beautiful Day stamp set. This might be my favorite Altenew set! The flower in it is so pretty and has several layers to create a really dimensional look. I stamped the first two layers in Puffy Heart, and the last two layers in Rocky Shore. For the branches, I stamped them once in Rocky Shore, and then used a blender marker to add some Puffy Heart ink to the branches as well.

Lastly I added the sentiment from the new Sakura Blossom set in Persian Blue, and added a few Nuvo drops to complete the card.

Papertrey Ink MIM #314: Color Wheel Cards

Happy weekend everyone!

Today's card is for Papertrey Ink's latest Make it Monday challenge #314, Color Wheel Cards. You can see their inspiration card and video on the Papertrey Ink blog

For this challenge, I decided to make a teacher thank you card using Papertrey Ink's Happy Trails stamp set. This i\set is definitely one of my favorites for its versatility!

For the background, I die cut a circle from a piece of text print patterned paper using Gina K Design's Large Circle die set.

I then die cut six pencils from Gina K layering weight paper and stamped them using the Happy Trails set. The ink colors that I selected for the color wheel are shown in the picture as well. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and foam mounted it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - I hope you're having a great weekend!

Less is More Challenge #366: Monochrome

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

For today's blog post I'm sharing a sympathy card that I made for this week's Less is More challenge, which is to design a monochrome card. Most of my cards turn out mostly monochrome (whether I intend them to or not!), so this was a fun challenge for me.

I have a craft fair coming up soon and I realized that I am short on sympathy cards, so that is what I decided to make for the challenge. To start, I taped off a portion of the Honeycomb Background stamp from My Favorite Things in a light gray ink and stamped that directly on my card base. I then added the flowers from Papertrey Ink's newest anniversary stamp set, Mixed Bouquet, in the same gray ink.

Lastly I added the With Sympathy sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Graceful Greetings II stamp set to finish the card.

Thanks for checking out my cards this week!

Papertrey Ink MIM #313: Mask & Stack

Hello friends!

Today's card is for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge #313, using a masking technique to stack up lots of cute images on a card. I loved using this technique since it's just so fun!

For today's card, I selected Papertrey Ink's Warmest Wishes stamp set, as it's one of the few that I have with cute animal images. Instead of selecting just one, I used all three animals stamps from this set - the polar bear, penguin, and fox - to give my card some variety (and extra cuteness)!

To start this card, I first stamped all of the animal images using PTI's True Black ink. I then stamped the sentiment also in True Black, and added the stars to the sky using PTI's Soft Stone ink. Lastly, I colored all of the little cuties using Prismacolor colored pencils.

Papertrey Ink MIM #312: Framing Sentiments

Hello friends!

For today's post, I'm participating in Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge #312: Framing Sentiments & Images. I love this challenge as it gave me an opportunity to use a few of my newer stamp sets along with some well-loved items I've had for a while!

To start this card, I selected a piece of Papertrey Ink's Ocean Tides cardstock - I love this color! I then die cut the stitched frame using the large circle set from Gina K Designs. Using the remnant from the middle of the frame, I masked the card base before stamping the background with the Romantic Script Background from My Favorite Things in VersaMark.

I then adhered the frame and stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Butterflies stamp set in Papertrey Ink's Ocean Tides die ink. I love that stamp set for the sentiments - there's something perfect in it for every occasion.

For the leaves, I die cut vellum using Papertrey Ink's Branching Out die, and cut it apart to make several branches to add to the frame. I lastly used the butterfly die from Papertrey's Happy Trails set (another one of my favorites) to hide the glue spot under the vellum.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Color Challenge

Good Afternoon!

I hope everyone is having a great week! Today on the blog I'm sharing the card that I made for Papertrey Ink's anniversary color challenge. The design team provided beautiful color palettes as inspiration - I selected Betsy Veldman's for the card that I made below.

I absolutely love this color palette! To make this card, I selected a piece of Green Parakeet cardstock and layered that over a white card base. I then cut a second panel using the Quatrefoil Cover Plate, and lightly inked it using the color recipe inks. I then die cut the feathers from the Feather Finery stamp set and stamped them in the Winter Wisteria and Aqua Mist inks, and used Royal Velvet and Tropical Teal inks for the dotted layer on top.

Lastly, I added the sentiment, embossed on vellum, and a few sequins for some sparkle.

Papertrey Ink Transformation Challenge

Happy Friday everyone!

I'm back today for Papertrey Ink's Transformation challenge, showing projects transformed into something new!

The previous idea of this card used one stamp from the Life set, embossed on a purple card base. I stamped the Thanks sentiment from the Swoosh set and added a few Nuvo drops in white for a little dimension.

Using the same stamp sets, I first cut a panel from white layering weight cardstock with a postage stamp border. This time, I used more of the flowers from the Life stamp set in purple and green inks, and then added the same sentiment in a dark purple across the top to complete the card.
